Minutes of the technical seminar sharing meeting: Focusing on welding technology and improving the standard of mining sprocket materials

On May 17, 2025, our company organized a “Project Technical Seminar Sharing Meeting”, and all relevant technical personnel and sales personnel actively participated. The meeting revolved around two core topics: one is the technical requirements and implementation specifications for welding circular bases; the other is the latest standards and performance index requirements for mining sprocket materials.
1.Technical seminar on welding circular bases
At the beginning of the meeting, an in-depth technical discussion on welding circular bases was first conducted. Since this component plays a key role in the equipment structure and directly affects the stability and safety of the overall equipment, higher requirements are placed on its welding quality.
To ensure that the welding quality meets the standards, the meeting clearly requires that all welders involved in the welding of circular bases must have rich experience in the industry, and their length of service must not be less than five years. At the same time, it is recommended to conduct regular welding quality assessment and training to continuously improve the operation level.
In addition, the technical team also exchanged views on key process links such as welding parameter optimization, preheating temperature control, and post-weld heat treatment, and plans to introduce automated welding equipment in subsequent projects to further improve welding efficiency and consistency.
2.Discussion on new standards for mining sprocket materials
Then, the meeting held a special discussion on the new standards for mining sprocket materials. According to the latest industry specifications, sprockets are the core transmission components in mining machinery, and their material properties must meet the requirements of higher strength and wear resistance.
The meeting clearly pointed out that from 2025, mining sprocket materials should meet the following technical indicators:
Mechanical properties: tensile strength ≥ 1200 MPa
Hardness requirements: surface hardness ≥ 62 HRC
The improvement of this standard is aimed at meeting the challenges of high strength and high wear in mining operating environments, extending the service life of sprockets, and reducing maintenance frequency, thereby improving the operating efficiency and reliability of the entire machine.
To achieve the above goals, the material research and development department and suppliers jointly developed new alloy steels and quenching treatment processes suitable for high-strength working conditions. At the same time, the sales team will also strengthen the promotion of the advantages of new materials in customer communication to enhance product competitiveness.
Conclusion
This technical seminar sharing meeting not only strengthened the communication and collaboration between technical personnel, but also laid a solid foundation for the high-quality implementation of future projects. By unifying our understanding, clarifying standards, and optimizing processes, we are confident that we can continue to make breakthroughs in the fierce market competition and create greater value for our customers.
In the future, we will continue to adhere to the concept of technological innovation-driven development and promote product quality and technical services to a higher level.
